observation

i've been in a 12x3 sched for almost 3 months now and there are times i feel that i haven't fully adjusted. i know you will agree with me that this is difficult because this is something which is not normal. the 8 hours of work a day already stresses you and already makes you restless how much more staying at work for 12 hours. most often than not, i find myself brain dead.

today, i would like to write about some of my observations about this schedule, it's advantages and disadvantages and also it's effect to me as an individual. let's start listing them. here are what i came up with:

advantages:

1. longer rest days than the usual (you have more rest days than your work days)
2. i save on my clothes (less wash clothes at the end of my work week)
3. less DAYS spent on staring at the computer monitor (pls refer to number 2 of the disadvantages)
4. i save 400 bucks each month from my monthly budget
5. i can get a part time job to augment my finances

disadvantages:

1. less sleeping hours (average of 5 hours a day during workdays)
2. i stare at the computer for 12 HOURS a day
3. more often than not, i feel lazy to go back to work after my restdays.
4. i noticed that i am having a speech problem (enunciating words) which i do not have before.
5. my brain works a lot slower than usual because of the lack of sleep. in effect, i have a very limited vocabulary and my speech hiccup got worst (my uhhmms)
6. i easily get angry with rude customers which does not happen before.
7. i find myself less productive during my rest days because all i want to do is catch up on my sleeping hours

don't get me wrong, i like the schedule because i have more days off. and hopefully, soon i'll finally get a part time job. these are just my opinion and my observations. these might be true in everyone's case, maybe not. i am writing this because i feel there is a need to. i might not know how but i hope it does serve it's purpose.

my daemon

found this from a friend's blog.

part-time job

i think good things are going to come my way by next month. my officemate's girlfriend sent me a message in AIM informing me that they will need inbound people for an online school near our place in angono. now, i figured why i was so lazy to apply for part time jobs outside of my town. i just hope everything will turn out ok. i badly need extra income. God speed.

the new i-mag photography issue is out. i have to get one. this magazine is so informative especially to laymen people like me who is new to photography and does not understand technical stuff.

most probably, i be able to get a copy on
saturday. i will be seeing some friends to celebrate one of our friend's birthday. advanced happy birthday, mama mei! :)

last tuesday, august 7, before i went on my rest days, i decided to get off early from work to pick up the back issues of the i-mag photography magazines that i ordered from their office at i-care building in dela rosa st. makati.

prior to that day, i was informed by Noemi, the contact person for the magazines, that i might be able to meet the magazine's publisher, Mr. Neil Garcia. it was not so much of a deal for me so, the thought lingered for only a short time.

so, on the scheduled day that i will pick the magazines up, i promised a good friend of mine that i would be dropping by her cafe afterwards. knowing that i would be staying there for just a few minutes and would be gone in 10-15mins. i was too wrong. i just found myself stuck with the publisher, interviewing me regarding my camera and what i like to shoot. yes, as always, i was too polite to say i have to leave sooner. so, i ended up going home at 7pm still. hehehe...

--------

neil, invited me to eat with him because he had not had lunch yet. i politely declined but to no avail. so i didn't have much of a choice but gave in. we went to cafe agogo at kalayaan building just across i-care. good thing, i agreed to come with him because they have good food. i love the pizza and their pasta (i already forgot the name... hehehe...). my favorite is the turtle pie. its soooo delicious. hehehe... i hope i could bring abba and yoshie there so they can try the food, too. :)

i had a nice time chatting with neil. learned a lot about publication, cameras and photography. hey, i am not saying this because the meal was his treat. i am just being honest. he is a nice guy and i did not expect him to be so ma-PR. it was just our first time to meet each other and yet he was so accommodating. more power to you and i-mag! :)

--------

this is another day that bores me. i think my work is
already boring me. i dunno, i feel lazy to go to work every sunday; though, i only work for three days a week. maybe that is one factor or maybe because the long time promised appraisal for pulling me out from smstv and placing me in inbound is yet to come. it's been ages... if i remember it right, one of my conditions in accepting the job is a salary increase. they said that it will be available after our third month evaluation to make sure that we are fit for the work. i started doing inbound here last november and in three months time, it will be a year. i don't think i can wait til february 2008 for it or worst, i may not be waiting for anything at all.
